LG15-Myspace Season One Finale Exclusive Deal Annnounced
The Creators posted this earlier today:
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to announce some great news. We are going to start uploading our videos to myspace and they are going to help promote the show. The first thing we are doing with them is 12 in 12! We will be using the MySpace on our site this Friday. Go to MySpaceTV.com and myspace.com now to check out how they are promoting the Season 1 Recap video - it is amazing!!!
See you all tomorrow
NewTeeVee reports: (and, actually, the story about the finale and myspace deal is all over the internet today)
...This is pretty remarkable. The team behind Lonelygirl, Greg Goodfried, Miles Beckett, Mesh Flinders, is not only getting to keep the rights to their content and creative control over it, they're having people squabble over the right to pay their bandwidth fees. The only time the word "exclusive" turns up in MySpace's press release for Thursday is very, very precise: "an exclusive partnership to debut LonelyGirl15's season one finale. The press release is here.
From what I can tell, it appears that the 12in12 finale episodes will appear both at lonelygirl15.com (with embeds from myspace) and at myspacetv.com

Well, I'm happy for the Creators. Good for them.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I'm hoping that they'll end up on YouTube, even if there's a delay. I still have a big love of YouTube, and (as popular as it is) I'm not real fond of MySpace.
I am sure Bebo will just love this this news.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice whenever they do press for 12 in 12 that they mention that the concept was created, developed, refined and pitched by fans.
ReplyDeleteanony: lg15 fan interaction is all about taking fan idea, not CREDITING them!! :-)
ReplyDelete---
i am sure the vids will eventually show up on youtube. Myspace did the same thing with Prom Queen - they got a 12 hour exclusive.
This actually sucks for me. My work bans myspace. I cannot see that video, for example.
ReplyDeleteOh well, you all have fun. I will have to see them when I get home.
I added screen caps of the myspacetv.com and myspace.com ads for Lonelygirl15.

ReplyDeletethe video shows up at a larger size than the embed, closer to what Revver presents.
For those who are blocked from viewing myspace, perhaps someone can volunteer to grab the videos on Friday and upload them to YouTube?
In any case, keep checking this blog as I am sure there will be news through the day.
If someone could get them onto youtube, that would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteHas LG15 Today blog ever let you down? We'll embed a player with YouTube versions of the finale videos, but count on delay for processing, etc.
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteI'll refresh all day
wow, i have not been impressed with lg15 for a while now... but this was really good. it got me interested in the show again and it is an easy way for new people to start watching the show without sitting in front of a computer for 7 days straight to catch up. good job, guys.
ReplyDeletenice pics, qthec. you made my meager post look so good.
ReplyDeletethe LG15 deal with MySpace is even all over the German news today...
