Lonelygirl15 Youtube subscriber base under "attack"?

In the past few hours Lonelygirl15 subscribers on Youtube have apparently dropped from 99,000 to 0 for some unknown reason. It could be a technical error but we believe it is some sort of internet attack.

LG15 "subscribers" is currently set to: 0 The account hit zero at approximately 5:42 EST.

It has been suggested that a "subscription rape" script maybe at work which leads to an inaccurate YouTube subscription count. This would be supported by the fact that we have not had any reports of anyone actually being "unsubcribed" by this "event".

Note: The account of another well know YouTuber has already been set to zero: http://youtube.com/daxflame

The Smosh YouTube account now appears to be under a similar attack as is the Danielbeast account!

Please do not worry abuot this exposure being damaging. There should not be any permanent damage from this bug.

    Youtube must have a problem right now. Since in one of the latest Zipster videos, he mentions it.

    Geez, I can't believe YouTube could be hacked into like this! And it's not only bad news because the subscription number is down to 0, but LG15 (and Daxflame for that matter), no longer show up in the list of most subscribed to channels of all time. That's really bad news as far as advertising goes. Hope it gets fixed up soon.

    People from 4chan.org and 7chan.org used a firefox script and process to lower the subscribers. Currently they are trying to get smosh down to 0. Just contact youtube about this problem. They are trying to get a reaction out of you and just doing this for some laughs. If you don't believe me, check it out, under the Random /b/ section.

    Here is the current thread on this topic. if there are others, they are either being done independently, or from aim/irc chatrooms, or other sites. The main thing they want you to think is that it is from some other site as they don't like attention.

    This video explains it pretty well. Hopefully, youtube will fix it. It is amazing how the smallest things can confound software sometimes.

    That Smosh thread is now gone. You have to just keep searching the /b/ section for the latest threads. They have some right now going for Zay Tonday.

    Since the lonelygirl subscriptions number has been corrected it is likely that they will move onto a new target.

    Maybe, but some on 4chan are trying to get people to mess it up again. Also, careful when browsing 7chan, they have a thread where they are trying to have porn of those around 16 years old.
