Show LG15 Season 2 Finale Vids some love
EDIT3: An additional set of questions have been posted on the Bloodlines: Part 3 video ... starting with #A to #Z ... have at em!
Well fans, I think many have enjoyed the live event in San Francisco on Wednesday, and the four season finale videos with all the action, drama, and cameos on Friday, so it's time to show LG15 a little love. A few of us started last night by commenting like mad on Bloodlines: Part 1 video, in order to garner it some attention on the YouTube honors charts.
To continue this effort, this morning I posted a series of numbered questions #1 to #58 (I kept going until someone else posted a comment) on the Part 1 video.
The challenge: REPLY TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF MY NUMBERED QUESTIONS (#1 to #58) on the Bloodlines: Part 1 video ... who will be the first to complete this difficult task?EDIT: Broken Kid wins round 1! Now I have added additional questions, so Round 2 begins... Who will be the first to REPLY TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF MY NUMBERED QUESTIONS #1 to #101 ?
EDIT2: Bubbleteagirl has won round 2! (answering #1 to #101!) I really think 101 questions is plenty, so rather than add even more to the same video, ... who will duplicate this feat, joining the ranks of glory, answering each and every question with a comment on the Bloodlines: Part 1 video?
I'm also wondering if it might be time to start commenting heavily on one of the other parts...
My theory is that by promoting Part 1, new viewers will check it out, and if they like it, continue on to watch the other parts.
Showing 754 comments and 17,426 views, here are the current YouTube Honors for Bloodlines, Part 1:
#19 - Most Discussed (Today)
#5 - Most Discussed (Today) - People & Blogs
#19 - Most Viewed (Today) - People & Blogs
#95 - Most Viewed (This Week) - People & Blogs
#40 - Top Favorites (Today) - People & Blogs
#19 - Top Rated (Today) - People & Blogs
#86 - Top Rated (This Week) - People & Blogs
Anything #20 or higher shows up on the front page for that category, but the (Today) honors disappear after 24 hours, and it takes higher numbers to make it on the (Weekly) lists.
And be sure to rate each of the Bloodline videos as well as commenting!
Thanks! and cheers Creators, on a well-produced, written, and performed finale - lot's of fun to watch.
I responded to all 58 plus the bonus question #59!
ReplyDeleteQ, I was commenting on the videos but before I had done very many, it quit letting me comment, and I just got this box that said, "commenting limit exceeded." Has anyone else gotten this?
ReplyDeletegreat...red army tactics :/
ReplyDeleteSuze,
ReplyDeleteYouTube has built in spam protection to prevent against abuse of its comments. When you post multiple comments over a short period its algorithm thinks you are potentially spam and creates that "box" which is to test if you have human perceptive skills or not.
Sorry, I did not see your comment earlier Suze. Just scroll down (on the screen that displays the video), and fill in the text from the image and you can begin commenting again. If you comment a lot, this will keep happening over and over.
ReplyDeleteamazing job Broken Kid, but you skipped question #33
ReplyDelete(there was no #33 before, hehe)
No fair, Q! You missed it first. I filled in a #33, but if you keep counting up with new questions, I should get at least partial credit. :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, Broken Kid wins the first round. Round two will go to the first person to answer all questions #1 through #101
ReplyDelete(I just added the additional ones)
;)
With close to 1000 comments,

New ones?!?! But I'm not even supposed to be on the computer!
ReplyDeleteAs for Anon -- I think this is slightly different from Red Army tactics in that we're still discussing and sharing opinions about the season finale and the characters ^_~ Which is really what the comments are for.
Dunno if anyone saw, but I deemed this the Lg Interrogation Squad. Any other ideas? xD I think the Q/A idea is great!
In defense of "Red Army tactics" it has been a thriving community the past few videos with discussion about the series and characters, with lots of speculation and theory discussion! Much better than the phorum as of late!
ReplyDeleteAnd you have to love the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon challenge, linking Sara Fletcher to Kevin Bacon through Brad Maul!
I replied to all the comments. Do I win round 2?
ReplyDelete"And you have to love the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon challenge, linking Sara Fletcher to Kevin Bacon through Brad Maul!"
ReplyDeleteIn 2 degrees. Impressive to say the least.
One of the biggest accomplishments of the Red Army to date. . .linking Sara to Kevin Bacon in 2 degrees. :)
Yes, bubbleteagirl, you win round 2, and thanks! I know YouTube makes it really inconvenient to reply to so many comments since you have to switch back to the video view to enter the codeword every few comments... ugg. Maybe using 2 windows (one on video view, and one on view all comments) would work?
ReplyDeleteBut you winning round 2 does not preclude second through 43nd place. Whoever is 44th to answer them all, that person is out of luck. Have to draw the line somewhere.
The crazy thing is that YouTube does not appear to have updated the view counts on any of the Bloodlines videos at all since early this morning, so I'm wondering if a big number is going to appear later or ???
Parts 1,2,3 have been stuck at 18K+, and part 4 has been stuck at 12K+. I wonder what the real view counts are?
Oh wait! I spoke too soon, bubbleteagirl - you only answered the first 62 questions (click on "newest" in the view all comments to see #63 to #101 !!!
ReplyDeleteRound 2 is back up for grabs!
no!! i answered the last half of the questions first and the first half of the questions second!! :P check again! :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I double checked too to make sure that 63 to 101 posted (because if they hadn't for some reason, i would have screamed... that took me an hour to do!) and they are all there. all 101 of them! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay! your crown is restored - I was confused by the numbering...
ReplyDeletecongrats & thanks again!
no no... thank you! :)
ReplyDeletePart 1 just jumped to 36,400+ views on the channel ...
ReplyDeletesweet!!! go lonelygirl!
ReplyDeleteJeez QtheC, I thought you learned your lesson about shameless attempts at "gaming" with your MySpace/MaddisonAtkins "strategy!"
ReplyDeleteI hope the Creators denounce such tactics as they wreak of foul play!
Why not just give BrokenKid 10,000 questions to reply to already?
Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to exress a contrary opinion, but please invent a handle for the convenience of replying. You don't have to sign up for anything to do this, just fill in the box and check the radio button when you post.
I know there are a few people who thing the "red army" approach goes too far... (I have questioned whether it's a good idea to post so many videos as response videos since it buries any 'real' response videos)... I was trying to mitigate that by doing something fun, and somewhat relevant (not completely, but perhaps 2/3's of the questions are directly related to the LG15 shows.)
The Creators recently thanked fans for supporting their videos by commenting on and favoriting them on YouTube. See:
http://inside.lg15.com/2008/01/19/thank-you-thank-you-thank-you/
"We just wanted to thank you all for the hard work in helping the last couple videos do so great on YouTube!!! Your commenting and favoriting pushed the video to the YouTube “Most Viewed” front page and it just went crazy from there."
Posting 10,000 questions is not practical - it takes a long time for one person to post multiple comments because YouTube begins to ask you to enter a codeword every few comments (to prevent automated commenting). The only way to get a lot of comments is to have a lot of people commenting.
I think the people that answered some of my questions were having fun doing it, and no one is harmed. In fact, maybe some new viewers have discovered the show as a result... so where's the harm?
I think it's a matter of degree - too much 'promotion' can garner a negative perception because it starts to seem insincere to others, and also if there is any real commenting discussion (as we have here on the blog), that becomes lost in the pile (not really an issue on YouTube where most comments are 'throw-away' anyway).
If others feel this approach of posting a bunch of questions is a bad idea, I would be happy to try to understand your point of view. Other than the preceding anonymous comment, the feedback I have had so far has been positive.
