They have been overemphasizing sex as of lately - which is a far cry from the very "virginal" beginnings with Bree.

ReplyDeleteSecond, this video kinda rubbed me the wrong way, and I don't really ever get pissed off, especially at LG15 (which I love).
I really hope that the writers have made a conscious desicion to have Sarah be a flake, because she's acting like one. It's not that I'm 100% against the Carl idea, cuz I am curious. She just doesn't seem to be acting smart lately. Maybe it's under the guise of what an 18 year old girl is supposed to be like...fickle, maybe...but, anyone remember when she was like angry & emo & shopped at Hot Topic? Now she's in pink, showing off the goods all the time, and doing bouncy, fun montages in two videos in a row. I just find it a bit out of character... Unless, of course, it's intended that way, maybe to show her as a bit of a poseur. Or at least (I hope) to make Daniel jealous.
One of my favorite videos/scenes is the one with Daniel & Sarah in the rain, on the way back from getting her out of Mexico, and Daniel totally chides her by reminding her of Bree. Her reaction was so genuine. These last couple videos just feel miles away from that person.

I agree with Raz. I actually thought Sarah was going to evolve into a real human being. Even when she went all HOO, it was weird but she seemed like she was discovering a person beneath her "stuff". We saw some intelligence emerging along with a very good person. Lately she's done a 360 and then some. I hate it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the last anon. We saw alot of depth in Sarah's character during the whole HoO thing. She seems to have regressed to all sex and sarcasm. Although I do kind of like seeing her giddy about a guy (honestly who hasn't been that way ever?), it's kind of overkill. And Carl sexy? EWWWWWWWWWWWW. Get some glasses Sarah.

It would be hard for Sarah to be less attractive than she is in this video ... and after thinking about it, I think it may be a fairly clever direction for her character - perhaps she is trying to do the one thing that will break down Daniel's recent rejection of her - return to Carl - or perhaps it's a more general habit when she doesn't feel appreciated.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for Sarah, I don't think this approach is going to win Daniel or anyone else over, but maybe it will put her in a position to do some damage to the Hymn of One or find out where the Lullaby project has gone.

I don't hate Sarah, she's the best female character to me. But I'm also annoyed by the sexual references all the time. I know sex is a normal thing in life, but lately it's just a bit too much. I would love to see Sarah just being in love with Carl, then that it's only about sex for her.

I also don't hate Sarah. She can be funny and smart and manipulative. I love that! But she isn't any of those things right now. I hate the way she is acting lately. I wish you were right, Qthec, and that somehow they were making her consciously act this way but I totally doubt it. It's like the person we saw when she went HOO is completely gone for some reason. Maybe "somebody" decided they needed or like her as the slut. Whatever the reason it's hard to find a girl on the show to relate to right now.

ReplyDeleteI think Sarah's dealing with issues feeling like she's the most under appreciated member of the group, and maybe she's just having fun because she knows very well that she is the only one that can help out the group. She knows that she has sex appeal, and she knows how to use it. I commend her for that.
