It’s a KateModern World
“It’s kind of like the Marvel universe, where the comics are separate but they feed the same reality,” says Miles Beckett, the 30-year-old co-founder of LG15 Studios, the startup behind the Web serials.

From the LG15today coverage of Glenn's radio show in December of 2007:
"Compare to Marvel comics with "Civil War". You have people with their own stories but they are all part of something bigger. Think of it as a Robert Altman movie. We have interconnected characters. Rachel is tied in with East Texas where Maddison and Clara are from. You can follow them separately or as a whole."
WHAT TIME IS IT?...Coverage of Glenn on BreeFM
Hmm... sounds kinda familiar.
ReplyDeleteRed Territory? theCoalition?
Aha! I knew I'd heard this somewhere before.
Glenn has been saying this for months now about RedEarth and Maddison Atkins.
ReplyDeleteI think that Glenn has mentioned comic book analogies multiple times on his radio show on BreeFM over the last few months.
ReplyDeleteI love the Marvel Universe reference... because if you ever say your sister-series are like the DC Universe, you know you're fucked. lol
ReplyDelete---------------
P.S.- I've heard the Marvel Universe analogy given to the Buffy-Angel series, every Stephen King-Dark Tower novel tie-in, Hercules-Xena series, Star Trek: Next Generation-Deep Space Nine series, amongst dozens of other related stories.
I love Glenn and all... but some of you are obsessed with giving him credit for not-so original ideas. I'm just saying. (<--- a term that, despite what some of you may believe, has existed way before the existence of Glenn himself)
I think the idea is that we are just seeing this comparison for Lonelygirl15/Kate-Modern now and this co-existence has been for almost a year. Yet this is the 1st time Miles has explained it that way.
ReplyDeleteGlen has been saying this about his universe and RedEarth & Madison for months. especially in the last few months on there bree.fm show and lg15.today
