Well, looking at a map of Lufkin on google:

The nearest body of water is Sam Rayburn Reservoir, which extends down toward Zavalla as well. There are a couple of other big lakes a little further away, and, of course, the Gulf of Mexico even further.
Also, Nacogdoches is about 20 miles north of Lufkin - maybe Mr. Zipp or HTMLvis has Jonas.
If the music in this video is "fair game," it should be a canon vid; it should be posted at LG15 as such.

1. If the music is not fair game, why didn't the Creators give this kid fair-to-use music to use in his vid so they could make it cannon?

ReplyDeleteI believe he was chosen because he won the competition.
As for the music, TOS is pretty clear about what is allowed on LG15.com and what is not even if it is originally posted on YouTube (a so called safe harbor). Of course a lot of competition entries contain copyrighted music so i guess they are pretty flexible about TOS when needed.
I think he won the contest where you get a phone call from a character. Jonas called him. Not a bad prize. I think he did a good job, actually.
ReplyDeleteI don't know whats with the negative comments, I thought Randy did great. I don't think he had a script or anything, just the voicemail to go on. Give him props, he deserves them.

Yeah, he really did a good job. It was believable and that's what it's all about. He's just a fan who did the best he could on this video. He deserves kudos ;)

ReplyDeleteI know it's the Breeniverse and anything goes in it, but I still fail to see the logic in having Jonas call a fan for help vs his friends, prize or no prize. And I didn't get the whole, "Put aside your differences" comments in the vid. Since when were Daniel, Jennie, and Taylor fighting with each other? *is confuzzled*
I think that was more directed at the Sarah vs. everyone else.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he purposely "called a fan" I take it that it was some situation where he managed to call, but was unable to see the numbers on the phone so he dialed until he reached someone. And that person just happened to post the video on youtube/be a fan.
It doesnt matter if he won a contest or not. He's still a Goof Job who looks like cousin Oliver! ahahahahahhahahhahhaha
ReplyDeleteI think he did a great job in the video, and I love that we included this on the LGpedia video list. I think that these fan/near-canon videos being included as part of the story is an excellent way to include the community in the show.

Don't get me wrong - I think the fan-involvement vids as cannon/semi-cannon is great. I just wish it made more sense s/l-wise. But I'll just go with what cassi said - he was just dialing in the dark till he got through to someone who just "happened" to be a fan.
