thecoalition.tv becomes ....???
A few of you may have been following the recent changes in thecoalition.tv which first started as a series of cryptic messages conveyed by new banners on the site. After the letters DMZ appeared in the banner a few of us pursued "in character" discussions and it was revealed that the web site intended to take on a new purpose, a new name and a new URL. The catch is that we are supposed to name the site.
The purpose of the site is now to serve as a portal for all community videos that want to be on the site and it has already begun to migrate towards that purpose. As most of you know the three stories that make up the Coalition Universe have established their own site that can be found here: http://www.thecoalitiontv.com

I think it is wonderful to leave the naming of the site up to the Community that is going to be utilizing it. I'm very excited!
ReplyDeleteBut that said, I went to try to participate in the discussion and was informed that my username and password were not yet "activated" (though I had used them in the past) and was sent an instruction e-mail that included a link that was supposed to confirm my e-mail. That led to this error message:
"You are not authorised to view this resource.
You need to login."
Needless to say, I am a bit confused at how I am supposed to login in order to confirm an e-mail address when confirming the e-mail address is what is supposed to be able to let me login.
I'm only posting this comment here because, well, I can't login to the site to post my difficulties there. I just want to be sure that newcomers to the site aren't haven't the same kinds of issues. The problem could lie in the fact that I'm trying to use an old username and password.

Instead of repurposing the thecoalition.tv as a video portal, why not set it to redirect to the new TheCoalition site, www.thecoalitiontv.com ? (or put up a simple page with links to (insert new site name here once named) and to www.thecoalitiontv.com ?
Either of those would be less confusing for future viewers.
You could still support the "video portal" function on (insert new site name here once named).
I apologize for that jenni, I had some technical difficulties that disabled some of the profiles. I will check on this and make sure they are enabled. Sorry for the confusion. If anyone else has problems, please let me know at [email protected]
