NewTeeVee has the details on the new LG15 show
lonelygirl15’s Second Incarnation: The Resistance
But this time, they’re also realizing that they can reach a different, more casual audience, and will be releasing a single weekly episode of The Resistance every Saturday that ties up all the need-to-know developments of the show into a 6-8 minute video. It includes two of the main characters from lonelygirl15 — Jonas, played by Jackson Davis, and Sarah, played by Alexandra Dreyfus — and furthers some of the storylines with which they were associated.
There will also be a finite lifetime for The Resistance, with 12 episodes over the course of three months followed by a full-day (12 episodes in 12 hours) season finale.
Check out the rest of the post. Its a very interesting read.
"EQAL as a whole now has a staff of 17, including salespeople tasked with dealmaking to integrate brands into its shows."
ReplyDeleteBroken Kid said this in the forums:
ReplyDelete"Don't worry - this doesn't mean we'll see one episode only per week. Like the article said, the plan is that casual fans can keep up with the show by watching the weekly episode. And there will be things in those episodes even for the die-hard fans. But those of us who choose can tune in every day for new videos and other features for discussion."
I suppose this means the 12 episodes over 3 months means the Saturday episodes.
Yea, that makes more sense.
ReplyDelete4x3=12
So the show only lasts for 3 months.....weird much. Why are they ending it so soon?
It says Season finale, not series finale.
ReplyDeleteA finite and definite plan for this part of the story is an excellent idea. It will tighten up the writing - there's just a much different attitude when you are aiming for a definite endpoint vs. trying to write for an 'open-ended' storyline (as was the approach to lonelygirl15).
ReplyDeleteAlso, they can partition their planning, marketing, view expectations, sponsors, casting, writing, etc. along the lines of defined periods ... in this case a three month story arc.
This makes so much sense to me.
Diehard fans will continue to follow from story to story, but with something 'new' beginning periodically, the barrier to entry for new fans is lowered.
"The company has a full plate of projects, including an Italian series to launch in January 2009 and two to three other international shows."
ReplyDeleteThat's the first I have heard of a timeframe for the Italian series.
"It is also working on deals to option and produce web shows pitched by independent creators and/or co-produce shows with other studios."
ReplyDeleteI wonder if anything will come of this?
^ who knows? But with every update my hope gets set up a little higher for LG15: The Resistance
ReplyDeleteSounds like they've really learned a lot from KM and LG15! I'm so excited for The Resistance now! :)
ReplyDeleteSo, do we know for sure that LG15: The Resistance is not ending and that it is just the end of the season 1. I think they should make that clear. It would be pretty weird to end a show before it has begun.
ReplyDeleteSo after years of screwing up and letting countless trait positive girls die. Jonas and Sarah will stop them in 3 months. OK.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who doesn't like the 12 in 12? I'd rather just have 2 or 3 or 4 really long videos in one day. I think the limit on youtube is 10 minutes.
