Everyone seems to be forgetting there is still daily content...
ReplyDeleteNot forgetting per se, it's just seen as not as marketable. Most articles I've read give it a passing mention.
ReplyDeleteI just keep hearing mention of the weekly episodes. I must have seen different articles than you.
ReplyDeleteI suppose we'll see Saturday how the weekly episode does!
based on the newteevee article, it sounds to me that the weekly episode is going to recap lots of what we see happening during the week.
ReplyDeleteThat was my understanding as well. Kate Modern actually started doing weekly recaps about 12 weeks in as well. I'm assuming that's where they started testing this model.
ReplyDeleteHowever, it's my understanding that the Saturday episode might include additional content ... so it's more than just a re-cap. But we'll see in a few days I guess.
One thing about the weekly recaps vs. the daily content ... the recaps will (I assume) probably appear on the main lonelygirl15 channel on YouTube while the daily stuff may reside on the other channels with fewer subscribers.
ReplyDeleteI haven't looked at all the other distribution channels yet to see how those are being utilzed.
The veoh channel has nothing so far except the resistance trailer. I assume they will have the weekly episode. I think that Saturday’s episode will be a recap like Katemodern but contain additional content so that the hardcore fans/those who watched everything in the week have something to watch the video for.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can see the characters post daily videos etc on their own channels/profiles for the interactive component and then the total story gets laid out once per week for more passive viewing and is posted on the main youtube channel etc. That way they hope the main video will generate more views over the course of the week on youtube etc and LG15.com will become the hub for the interactive component.
