Hollywood actors guild to seek strike
The Screen Actors Guild said Saturday it will ask its members to authorize a strike after its first contract talks in four months with Hollywood studios failed despite the help of a federal mediator.

Why can't Hollywood get its act together?
ReplyDeleteI'm not well-educated on all of this but they seem to fight amongst themselves a lot.
Veela: That actually isn't really the case, it just seems that way since there was just a writer's strike not too long ago. My theory is that this is actually coming out of panic over how to monetize the internet since a lot of work is starting to move there and actors and writers aren't gaining the same benefits from it as they do TV and film and that's making everyone a bit nervous...oh, and the economy sucks. There's that too.
ReplyDeleteAnd Joe...that COULD be true IF LG15: TR is planning a season 2. They aren't going to benefit from this much if they are wrapped in a week.
