For Aunt Alex fans or Quarterlife fans, there are additional video shorts and text blog entries available on the character "works" pages. The view counts are very low, and some of these I found pretty entertaining, even more than the main show. Here's the link to Dylan's videos. You can surf around from the show page on the site to find other character's "works" pages.
Some of the short vlogs do not make much sense unless you know what is going on in the main story at about the same time they are each posted. It's an interesting mode of storytelling to have the main show, and then this side content running in parallel. I could see characters on television shows, for instance, doing something similar - vlogging online in character about what is going on in their stories, and inviting comments on those vlogs from fans. In the show, we often see her vlogging, and here we see the short vlogs themselves.
My favorite one is Oh no, no, no. where Dylan talks about her work assignment to write an article on the 'Hunks of Global Warming.'
Shortly after the posting of the video " Re: How Could THIS Happen?" by uniqueblaze as a response video to Rachel's " How Could THIS Happen?" video specultion began to swirl. Could uniqueblaze be a new character introduction into the RedEarth88 series. We all remember the way Jonas and Gemma were introduced in Lonelygirl15. Even within the RedEarth88 series itself there is a history of converging plotlines. KateModern has done some cross cultural plot integration between the USA and the UK.
So what is the evidence:
Uniqueblaze's account was created 2 days ago. He has 4 videos, all shot the same day; 3 are random, 1 is a response to How Could THIS Happen? The video poster waited till their was a lull in the response videos so that they would be sure their video was noticed.
Random? Perhaps, but we decided to look a little deeper and guess what we found......
Yes, that is right! On Rachel's profile page she has the uniqueblaze video listed as her most recent favorite.
So, what you you think is going on here? Is there romance in the air? Is uniqueblaze a very skilled random fan, or would you like to see him develop into a new character in the series. Leave us a comment below and let us know.
Thanks Kismet :). I felt pretty silly all dressed up in the mud.
Jerry, you’re so sweet! Luckily lonelygirl15 has an amazing director in Marcello Daciano. I don’t know what I’d do without him. He rocks! Although I will share a little secret with you - I directed a recent video. Nothing elaborate, but everyone seemed to like it, which is a good thing.
NOTE: Due to the lack of recent credits on LGPedia we were unable to obtain confirmation of which video Amanda directed. Why don't you take a guess in a comment below and we will see who gets it right. ---
Also "As for match.com bringing down The Order, we’re not so sure. We’re also not sponsored by or affiliated in any way with match.com. We just thought it would be a fun way to bring “Pharma Guy” back into the story. We know how much sweetilixir and Milo love him."
Talk to all the characters here. Read all Sarah's posts here. --- by SkyIsEmpty on Sat Jan 12, 2008 11:41 pm
sounds like a good plan. i'll work on the physical locations... i was just thinking about the italian restaurant he mentions. he specifically mention "nearly 100 wines to choose from." i think that's the only number he references. that could be something? --- Lest We Forget - sweetelixir
LG15 appears to have finally hit its stride again with the Sarah video " Can't Sleep... with Me" which currently has 256,523 views, coming very close to the Rachel video " 2 Girls 1 Dwelling" which currenly has 258,696 views.
It is great to see these kind of view numbers for any series on YouTube!
EDIT: Deagol solved the anagramed words at the end of the vid:
first code says this (just one word i dunno): Once there was a girl who sacrificed the tnofyorpup for eternal life. But she is no soul to admire; She's not brave - she's just a liar. Built up secrets leave her crying. While she weeps she's quickly dying. She can't forget the tears she's shed, for a doctor so dear, who now is dead. As fast as she ran and as far as she wandered, she's haunted by a girl she murdered.
Rachel's latest video, "How Could THIS Happen?" sent shock waves through the community almost as soon as it was released last night. Here is what she had to say:
Rachel: "So... The other night was really weird. Don't get me wrong; my boss's dinner party was fantastic. It's just that something weird happened between Aly and me. When I was getting ready, Aly was helping me--and I really appreciated it. But... Every outfit she suggested just... I dunno. (She shrugs.) Wasn't my style. I guess I'm more modest than she is. And then, when we finally did unearth this one classic black cocktail dress, Aly just seemed a little too focused on watching me while I was changing into it. (She rubs her forhead.) Okay, she was staring--longer and lower than was appropriate. I hadn't reallyl picked up on it before, but... I'm just not sure if I'm comfortable being roommates with Aly anymore."
rekidk said... OMG is right! Now, the question is THIS: is this an issue of Tachyon's orientation--which is interesting in-and-of-itself? Or was Tachyon LOOKING for something? (Remember Bree's scar?)
I'm glad that we're getting to see Rachel's flaws. She's VERY judgemental.
--- anonymous said... I think rekidk nailed it--Tachyon was probably looking for a scar. How could Rachel know?
This is interesting: Unlike the early lonelygirl15 videos, where we are just as clueless about the Order as Bree was, here the viewer knows sinister things surround Rachel that she's unaware of. It adds a layer of drama over seemingly benign vlogs.
--- amergin said... I immediately thought of Three's Company, one of the shows Glenn has mentioned liking, while watching this... all of the uncomfortable misunderstandings.
--- kismet said... > Unlike the early lonelygirl15 videos, where we are just as clueless about the Order as Bree was, here the viewer knows sinister things surround Rachel that she's unaware of.
Dramatic irony rules. Silly Rachel. I'm almost certain that it was just Tachyon's instincts about watching her assignment, and it's been so long since she has been normal that she doesn't really get space. (Then again, things I've been almost certain about in LG15 have turned up totally wrong.) I know Rachel said Aly gave her her space, but what is Alytach is still a little awkward? OR maybe she really is a lesbian. *shrug*
--------------------------------- Whether or not Rachel could know of the existence of Bree is probably less important than that fact that Aly could have been looking for something on Rachels body. Tattoos, marks, scars, etc...... or she was staring because of the lack of something?? And what about Rachel's response? Rachel took it as "she is checking me out way", but could that mean she is questioning her own sexuality? We know Aly is on a mission. Could that play into the stare?
If you recall we first encountered Bree's scar in the Lonelygirl15 video " Swimming".
But the story does not end there. Those of you who tuned into BreeFM last Wednesday night heard Glenn talk about "My So Called Life". In particular Glenn reference the character of "Rickie". Here is how Wikipedia describes "Rickie":
"Enrique "Rickie" Vasquez, played by Wilson Cruz, is RayanneGraff's other best friend. He is a gay bi-racial (Hispanic-Black) 15-year-old boy raised by his uncle, who physically abuses him. In 1994, Rickie is as openly gay as a teenager could be in his circumstances. When his uncle kicks him out of the house he is fostered briefly by the Chases, then by English teacher Richard Katimski (played by Jeff Perry), who is also gay and becomes a mentor to Rickie."
One has to wonder if Glenn's remarks were a passing comment or a prelude of things to come on Rachel's life.
So take another look at Rachel's video:

Recently we ran a story asking why Mesh was missing from the new years LG15 greetings. We have not had a reply from the Creators. Now looking through LGPedia we find that there are no production credits from the video Killers at the Door?! going forward to the present.
Here are the production creditis from Missing Girl Found which is that last video with production credits.
Production Credits: Executive Producer(s) - Miles Beckett, Mesh Flinders, and Greg Goodfried Producer(s) - Amanda Goodfried Supervising Producer(s) - Mary Feuer Production Manager - Greg Goodfried Director(s) - Marcello Daciano Camera - Kevin Schlanser and Justin Thompson Vidplay - Jan Libby Story - Mary Feuer, Jan Libby, Jonathan Robert Kaplan, and Mesh Flinders Editor(s)-Kevin Schlanser and Justin Thompson Music Supervisor Seth Jacobs
Clearly Mesh was still alive and kicking on or around November 29th, 2007, but where is he now and why have the credits not been updated?
KateModernProduction posted this picture on their Bebo page, with the title "Season Two Teaser". It looks like somebody will get heavily wounded or maybe even die in the second season. Who do you think that person will be? And what do you think will be the story behind it?
"Philanthropic avatars get together to talk shop at a virtual sidewalk cafe in Second Life."
"The populist hoopla surrounding this online community in recent months has led multinational brands from Reebok to Toyota to establish beachheads on Second Life to interact with consumers and be part of the next wave in social networking. The nonprofit world is following suit: Second Life now has an office park called the Nonprofit Commons that is filled to capacity with 32 charities."
Virtual yaks go fast
"Just ask Ogilvy Worldwide’s Kathryn Parsons, who helped to craft a recent campaign in Second Life for the UK-based arm of Westport, Conn.-based Save The Children. The nonprofit, with Parsons’ help, created a virtual, online 3-D animal pageant in Second Life last fall, called Yak Shack, after it sold out of the real yaks being auctioned on its 2006 holiday Wish List. Hundreds participated in the online event, buying yaks for 1,000 Lindens (the currency in Second Life), or about $3.50 in real money. Each player who bought a yak for a poor family was able to milk, ride, and customize a yak avatar online and take care of it in a virtual yak barn, culminating in a December contest for Best Yak."

Recently, WhippedCreamShampoo posted a video claiming that Lonelygirl15 and Redearth88 create scripted videos pretending to be real vlogs, and that the commentors on these videos help to support this illusion. As a fan of both series, I have decided to throw in my two cents on the matter - Dr Bethany Ella Fitzgerald III, PhD
Below is the original video that this is a response to:
Glenn, live on BreeFM @11pm EST, Wednesday. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This article was being written live during the show. As such it may contain significant factual errors. Over time it is hoped that these will be corrected. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Glenn used his "radio guy voice" to start out the show. When he did the brother voice over on the Tachyon/Aly Zarin video he found he had to enunciate every word. He compared the effect to Will Arnett.
Viral videos: Glenn was considering that area before OpAphid. He had considered shooting a single camera sit-com. Before YouTube he was thinking of using bit torrent but you would still have to get a buzz going. When YouTube came along he was paying attention to videos like "10 Things I hate About Commandments". They cut it like it was a teen movie.
Once the new Knight Rider airs (see the short promo with the Will Arnett voice) lets take the footage and overdub some of the lines from WillArnett/Arrested Development . Think of the mashup potential!!!!!!!
Glenn was inspired by "Working Girl". The majority of movies Glennlikedhad a 20 year old guy with an overbearing girlfriend. He would find a new girl and then pull off something great. Glenns parents got divorced when he was 10 so he looked up to TV shows for role models. He was bummed when John Ritter (Threes Company) passed away. Its amazing what an impact a TV show can have.
There was a scene in "Working Girl" where someone would get involved in radio. You see 2 thoughts and link them together in your brain just like in the movie. Occasionally something will click and you figure out how to put a different spin on something or combine 2 things to make something new.
Take Glenn up on this"Mashup Video Challenge" and give him a shout out in the videos.
---- Big thank you to the Red Army for helping promote "When A Girl Gets On Your Nerves". It is now at 100,000 views. The comments got it going but it rolls from there. Once it gets on the charts it has a snowball effect because Sara gives an amazing thumb nail.
In terms of titles they are intended to make sense from the perspective of Rachel. Everything that included the "2 girls" had a double meaning so the word "dwelling" stayed true to the spirit of the character.
People were talking about tactics. People (including LG15) are very aware that the YouTube charts are important. Look at "Remember Me"......it did not cross the threshold and did not do as well. Look at the videos on the "other character" accounts for Lonelygirl15.
With a plan (see below) we could make RedEarth88 the most popular series on the Internet. We have amazing videos that have not had a ton of exposure. ---- Glenn has a bonus planned for the Red Army. Its a token of his appreciation for all your hard work.
If you want to get involved in the Red Army send an e-mail to [email protected] ---- There is a new video coming tomorrow. It is at the thumb nail stage. There are a couple more videos in this story arc. The story is "going", people just do not realise it yet. ---- NEWSFLASH: Glenn has interrupted: "Bette Midler - Wind Beneath My Wings"....with a major रंतthat the song is female passive aggressive "bs". ---- People suggested Glenn should volunteer for stuff or get involved in politics. He thinks its great but he makes the argument that you can do so much to influence society through contributions to pop culture that has an impact on people. Think about our preconceived notions. They are shaped by the things around us.
Look back at the 60s and 70s. Good Times and Jeffersons were ground breaking. They had "humanising" content. Norman Lear was behind shows that broke down racial barriers. "My So Called Life" was another ground breaking show. A year and a half later Glenn had a close friend who "came out". TV shows can increase tolerance.
Glenn loves that we enjoy his work। With the Lonelygirl15 video "Drinking Problems" he felt like he was beginning to get into something. Glenn's assistant had once mention the phrase that her parents had "violently ignored her" and that always stuck with him.
If vlogs you are talking about the characters thought process. In Bree's Gone, Hiding In the Bathroom, and Drinking Problems he wrote a lot. The initial drafts were twice as long. He was shooting How dumb am I and he was talking to Jessica she said she was stoked with the idea of scripts whereshe could tackle massive dialogue. On LG15 Miles wanted to tone it down a little. You don't want teenagers to talk like 30 something. Today people have very diverse vocabularies. Glenn tried to look at it as people talking with diverse vocabularies. You have educated and articulated people and you also have the swearing language at times. When you listen to love line for a year and you get to hear a slice of reality. You pick up on the speech patterns and that's a core component of how he writes dialogue. They don't know the answers but they are looking for the answers. Maybe they are getting a glimpse of himself. The vlog is a journey.
Glenn loved the great comments on the last video. The last two videos were originally going to be one video. He felt that because Sara pulled it off so well it was deserving of two videos. Miles wanted things less than a page. Jessica looked frightened while Miles and Glenn would fight over the scripts. Glenn like people to make strong argument and does not mind creative battles because it makes the points stronger.
You have to consider the pacing of the video and how that affects the length of the video. There are times when you cant just cut out lines. Curious George had incredibly nice things to say about the last video. Glenn printed out the article so that he can read it on days when he is bummed. He thanked Anchor Cove for making him a better writer. Glenn read the actual Curious George post from Anchor cove.
The last video did have some background relevant stuff in addition to the "Zoey rant".. He loves the Zoey fan fiction and thanked Zoey for all her help with LGPedia. He was amused by the comments that say they want to hear Zoey's side of things. Rachel is a bit judgemental. Maybe we will delve into why Rachel is the way she is. ---- Puzzles: they will be a component of the non Rachel/Tachyon parts of RedEarth88. ---- Glenn loved Arrested Development. It was cancelled after 3 seasons. ----
The RedEarth88 Plan Glenn has been working on RedEarth88 with Jeromy for 10 months. There is at least one night a week when he does not sleep. He works on RedEarth88 24/7. He never made one cent from Lonelygirl15. The ARG stuff was fun but it took up a lot of his life. He has not had time to look after the business side of RedEarth88.
The numbers help set the stage if it gets consistent numbers. Currently it is getting better numbers than Lonelygirl15, Prom Queen or Quarterlife. RedEarth88 has a "story" to tell from a business perspective.
Multiple accounts make it difficult for new viewers to pick up on the series. If we re-post videos on the RedEarth88 series account we can create a self contained narrative story. If there are 2 or 3 videos per week we have 6 weeks of constant chart presence and it introduces people to the idea that this is a series. The playlists will still exist on the RedEarth88 account, so if someone wants to watch the entire series they can "catch up". This will not affect new videos on the character accounts. If we can get some of the great past videos in front of 100,000 people think about the impact. It would help bring up the subscriber numbers as people realize this is a great series.
The Brother element will be understood in a different way. We want people who will dig and do research. Those who don't will see a mysterious individual show up for the shooting. The idea will build up that someone helped them.
Star Trek did great in syndication because a new audience "discovered it". That is what we want to accomplish with the RedEarth88 account.
Glenn talked about how important comments are to promoting the series. Comments should be a conversation that helps expand the community. Glenn talked about the Perky post "Be Part Of Something " that talked about the "comments community" and the wonderful things that happen when the community members interact while talking about a video. Comments ensure that a series survives and Glenn asked Perky and everyone else who frequent "comments" (past, present and future) to join the Red Army and help make RedEarth88 all it can be. We play by the YouTube rules. Will we survive haters?.......yes! We want a mainstream audience. The more people that become involved the better it is. You need the early adopters, but then you need to build out from that core group of fans.
If you are a band and you have sold 10,000 records you can get a deal. If you have sold 100,000 records you can get a great deal. If you have sold 250,000 records consistently you can get an amazing deal. Investors will give you much better terms if you have an established track record and that is the goal for RedEarth88
---- Glenn says that Gregg (Goodfried) owes him an e-mail, but that he really misses working with both Gregg and Amanda.

Kevin Schlanser is known to be the camera operator and editor of the videos in the LG15 series. It is known that he became part of the crew around the 30th video. More recently, he has been composing and arranging music for the series, such as his piece "Discovery" featured in the video HOLY SH%T!!!. He directed the short film "In The Deep" starring Jessica Lee Rose. Presumably, he was a fellow classmate of Rose at the New York Film Academy. He also directed the short film "The Utopian" starring Guillermo Diaz and Richard Riehle.

ED: This was posted as a response video to Sarah's video on YouTube - interesting that it was accepted right away. I tested it, and it appears that Sarah's video is accepting video responses without requiring approval, but is not accepting text comments. Intentional change by the creators, or did they check the wrong box by mistake? What do you think?

With 249,286 views to date, the Rachel video "2 Girls 1 Dwelling" will almost certainly smash through 250,000+ views in the next few minutes (depending on when YouTube updates the account.
This is a pretty massive achievement because no Lonelygirl15 video since "Shadow of Death" has crossed that threshold, and that was on September 08, 2007.
Here is a direct comparison of the video viewership by day of recent Lonelygirl15 and RedEarth88 videos (click on the image to enlarge)
Note: Its seems likely that 'ZenithMedia' is ZenithOptimedia which is part Publicis Groupe, but this has not yet been confirmed. If you are in the biz and know these companies please leave a comment below so that we can clarify this for our readers. The movie is produced by 20th Century Fox. It is not know who owns and operates the Whatweird.com web site which, in addition to Jack videos and posts, recently publised an article entitled "What is a Paladin?" which one would assume is part of the marketing campaign.
"A publisher for Oni Press commented on the tie-in to the film, stating: "The world that was being built around these characters was so well-realized and the mythology so interesting that other stories about this conflict would be plentiful and add to what the filmmakers were building.""
"A video game for the film will be made for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and Wii consoles."
