Harper's Globe May Live On
Just in from Jason as of last night:
We are having some great discussions with CBS about the possibility of keeping the site alive and/or progressing further with the brand.
With any luck, we should have something firm to tell you in the next few weeks. Until then, please feel free to stick around and keep chatting.
It was revealed last week that one idea (among many) pitched for season two of Harper's Globe would follow a reporter investigating the murders on the island during season one of both Harper's Globe and Harper's Island, likely leading the reporter into a murder plot surrounding himself.
CBS may be considering a continuation of Harper's Globe partly due to the online ratings Harper's Island received, which unfortunately did not contribute to its Neilsen ratings.
In the mean time, the Harper's Globe Meebo chat will be shut down tomorrow to make way for the Level 26 chatroom.
Does this mean that Eqal will ONLY keep the harpersglobe.com site alive if CBS pays them for a HG-2? If so that seems rather a harsh position given the amount of user generated content.
ReplyDeleteYes, Greg, we did hear you...... Eqal is a "for profit company"... we get that. However that does not mean you are free from all obligations to all stakeholders and that includes the users who build such things as wikis.
We need a much better understanding of how Eqal plans on treating such intellectual property in the future.... even to their contingency plans in case of bankruptcy. Once a company enters its last 60 days all IP becomes tied up and options are lost. It would be nice to think that some of the community content that has taken so many hours of effort on the part of contributers could live on in the public domain if no where else.
I hope that if there is a season two that it will be a musical... Internet musicals are the wave of the future.
ReplyDeleteThis is all smoke and mirrors. They are telling you exactly what you want to hear.
ReplyDeleteAll we want to hear is that Bree is back on lonelygirl15.......
