WSJ on The Guild
The online addition of the Wall Street Journal has a nice article about The Guild's success as-well-as a look at the state of web series in general. The article does not have any new ground-breaking information... web series profitability is low, series with stars get more attention, boob shots rule YouTube; however, it is a well-written article and worth a look.

This is a good article, but yeah the author doesn't know much about web shows.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder how web shows are finally going to find a way to make a substantial profit. If I were to bet I'd say Felicia Day will be one of the first to accomplish it.
ReplyDeleteI agree. She is very talented and is an expert at social media marketing. Being on-screen talent, producer, writer, director, marketer, ad sales, and webmaster is an important and unique set of skills and Felicia has them all.
