The Web.Files #30 - Epic Fu
This week’s episode of The Web.Files is all about Epic Fu, which is not a new martial arts disciple created by the world’s deadliest man, George Ruiz, but rather a long-running webseries created by Steve Woolf and Zadi Diaz. The epic duo discussed the show’s long history, the recent re-launch and their highly involved and supportive community. Furthermore, they announced that they have been working on creating an Epic Fu blog network, which will allow them to have daily content in addition to the regular video series.
Epic Fu, originally titled JetSet, launched in 2006. In 2007, the show joined Next New Networks and subsequently changed its name to the more distinctive Epic Fu. In 2008, the series made news when it jumped from Next New Networks to Revision3 Studios, which was notable in that it was the first high profile series to switch networks, a switch that lasted only six months due to cost-cutting measures by Revision3. This January, Epic Fu re-launched with a new site and a new focus on covering emerging culture.
Interesting interview. This should be worth keeping an eye on.
ReplyDeletewho is George Ruiz?
ReplyDeleteGeorge Ruiz is the agent for several of the big web series celebs. I believe he is also a member of the Academy.
