World's first paying jetpack pilots
On October 6 2009 Martin Aircraft Company had its first five customers pay to be jetpack pilots and fly the Martin Jetpack. You can see from this video the thrill they had. All five customers were novice pilots, and they all made safe solo flights.
As part of the development of the Martin Jetpack Experience business, planning to open for tourist jetpack flights in 2010, Martin Aircraft Company and Total Experience are now offering a limited number of packages where you can come and be one of the first people in the world to ever fly a jetpack. Check out details on our websites www.martinjetpack.com or www.totalexperience.co.nz.

On this week’s episode of The Web.Files Kristyn Burtt takes a ride with the team from Elevator. Creator Woody Tondorf discusses the inspiration for the series those would be budget and time, while cast members Ben Pace and Genevieve Jones offer insights into the creative process. Judging by the interview, they clearly enjoy working together. Also, Woody mentioned that they are gearing up to produce the final season of the series and are planning to go out with a bang. All-in-all this was another great interview with an engaging cast and a bubbly host.
Elevator is a webseries that defies convention. While the early episodes dealt with traditional office elevator situations, recent episodes have included vampires, werewolves, spacemen and a magically conjured Jackie Jandrell… that was pretty hot. The series was acquired by The Break last year as part of its acquisition of HBOlab, which produced the series. In December, The Break decided to discontinue production of the series; however, due to a deal Woody Tondorf struck with the company, he retained access to the show’s YouTube channel and has been releasing the last officially produced episodes while planning for one last round of production.
Also, check out the most recent episode of Elevator - The Bad Touch with Jessica Rose.

Whether i’m working w/a client or doing an indie, i always begin with story. Of course, with a client i will have many things to consider (brand’s voice, brand’s audience, brand’s platforms, etc.) while creating a story that fits for the gig, but story is still most important.

Earlier this month, the producers of Riese, announced that do to on-going business concerns, they were suspending the release of new episodes for the time being. The producers have contracted with a British distribution company to negotiate foreign distribution rights for the series in an attempt to generate much needed revenue. While the negotiations continue, they have decided to hold a contest as a way to keep the fans involved in the series, give them an opportunity to express their creativity, and perhaps give them something to do besides sharpening their pitchforks.
The contest parameters are fairly wide-open, entries include but are not limited to: art, music, fan-fiction, wallpapers, avatars or any other creative expression one can imagine. Pretty much anything goes; I for one am thinking interpretive dance. Submissions are do no latter than 12:00 AM PST, March 5th and may be submitted to ryan(at)riesetheseries.com. Throughout the month of March, the producers will be displaying various entries on their website. Also, all work remains the property of their respective artists. The entries will be judged by Ryan and Kaleena, the show’s creators. Among the prizes are several copies of Scott Westerfeld’s new steam-punk inspired novel Leviathan, exclusive Riese and The Sect buttons, and Riese apparel.
