There is an easy way to increase your viewership. Try closed captioning.
Closed captioning will enable millions of deaf and hard of hearing people in English speaking countries to watch. Plus, closed captioning makes your web series attractive to people learning English as a second language. And, closed captioning reinforces literacy skills for children learning to read.
If you are on YouTube, you have access to more affordable closed captioning. YouTube has an automatic captioning feature that you can enable. However, unless they are edited, YouTube automatic captions are not understandable. Therefore, you may want to consider taking advantage of the YouTube Ready Program at http://youtubeready.dcmp.org.
Captioning vendors participating in the YouTube Ready Program offer a range of affordable options. Options range from a simple timed text transcript that you can use with YouTube automatic captioning, to create accurate closed captions - to complete closed captioning services.
If you are not on YouTube you can still closed caption depending on what your video player is (at this time Vimeo does not support closed captioning) . There are hundreds of closed captioning service providers in the United States and Canada.
Again, for a web series producer on a tight budget, closed captioning is one of the easiest ways to get more bang for your buck.

From the press release:
Going from Big to Shortz
New gym-focused web comedy coming 10/10/10
Dumper Entertainment is pleased to announce the upcoming release of their next webseries, “Gym Shortz.” This animated comedy is set, as you might guess, in a gym. There, your typical gym staff (would-be actors, dancers, athletes, etc.) work to get the clientele in shape while pursuing their own dreams of success.
Diet fads, strip-tease classes, and many other elements of contemporary gym culture fuel the comedy of the Chicago-based show. The series will begin with short “minisodes” featuring gym safety tips, scheduled for release on October 10, 2010 (10/10/10). Full-length episodes are in development for the future. Listen for the voice of WebTV star Taryn Southern as the female lead.
This is the first animated project for show creator Justin Marchert. Having spent years creating the live action webseries, “Big Bother,” he is now ready for something that doesn’t require the constant production demands of creating props, securing locations, organizing actors, renting equipment, etc. Though animation doesn’t require these same elements, it does require a great deal of time. Therefore, the release frequency of the webseries is very much TBD.
“Gym Shortz” is bridging the gap between seasons of Dumper Entertainment’s “Big Bother.” This reality TV parody just finished releasing season 2 and will release its third and final season next summer. If you’re not familiar, it follows the dealings of 16 housemates, including turtles, dogs, humans, fairies, monsters, mermaids and a host of other children’s entertainment rejects, who compete to be The Biggest Bother.
WebTV actors Tony Janning (From “The Legend of Neil”), Mike Hart (From “The Crew”) and David August (From “Ghost Town”) all voice characters in season 1. Season 2 features the WebTV talents of Jamie McMahon (From “Absolution”) and Carly Jones (From “Lonelygirl15” and “With the Angels”). Both seasons can now be viewed in their entirety at www.BigBotherShow.com.
Look for “Gym Shortz” on 10/10/10 at www.GymShortz.com.
