Twitter is a great resource and should definitely be used. However click through rates can be 0.5 percent or less. Now, if you have a highly engaged Twitter following the rate might increase but to have a significant impact you need a lot of followers.
ReplyDeleteOne of the keys here is having your cast, crew and fans all tweet or RT the message. If you are lucky you will have someone with a massive following tweet your show. This is where your show needs to do the hard work. It needs to be able to sell your show in the first 15 to 30 seconds (some people would say 5 seconds) of video. If thats an intro or some less than compelling story line then you may have already lost the advantage. In the online video world seconds count. This is particularly true in the "sales phase". Once you have built a sustainable audience you have a lot more freedom to play around with the format etc, but in the building phase you need to make sure that the beginning of the video generates "interest"; the first step in any sales process.
