The Black Helix and Ready for the Big Chill

After what seems to have been somewhat of a small lull on the launching of "mainstream" ARGs, two new games with potential have cropped up this week on Unfiction.

The Black Helix

First off, The Black Helix, from The Design Zoo, seems promising in both its nefarious vibe and its attachment to the Creative Industries Innovation Fund. Wikibruce reports more on what exactly is so innovative about it. And, of course, what's an ARG without an ominous counter ominously counting down? Although it seems the official launch is set for this Friday, a few pre-game clues are embedded in the background image. Follow the discussion and speculation on UF here.

Ready for the Big Chill




Brrrrr....feel that chill? You might need finger gloves on while checking out this transmedia vehicle (possibly ARG). Ready for the Big Chill appears from the outset to be a slick transmedia production alluding to a future catastrophic climate change event...possibly from volcanic action or an asteroid? So far, the game seems resplendent in links including one for an "Idea Community" on Facebook, where you can contribute your solutions for combating "The Big Chill."
