In reference to the TF article:
ReplyDeleteA "web series" (web = World Wide Web) cannot be geoblocked. Anything geoblocked would be better considered to be "TV online" since it uses that archaic business model. If content is geoblocked it simply cannot be considered to be on the web but rather on a regional network.
This is one thing the IAWTV got wrong. Then again they do have "TV" in there name. What were they thinking?
If companies want to use the "TV online" business model that is their prerogative in a free market economy but they should be transparent with their model and refrain from claiming to be on the "web".
