Spellfury is a fantasy-action series that has been viewed over five million times online since it's debut in 2008. The views have come from people watching the show on websites like Youtube, Koldcast.tv, Blip.tv and Itunes. Season one which consisted of 12 (3-5 minute episodes) also aired nationally in Canada on Global Television as part of the “The JR DIGS Show”.
The series is a mixture of "Lord of the Rings" meets "Stars Wars" meets "The Muppets" on a shoestring budget.
Wired.com has said "Canadian writer-director Travis Gordon throws World Of Warcraft video games, Lord of the Rings pomposity and Buffy The Vampire Slayer snark into the blender for this live-action series"
Up until this point the crew has been financing the project by themselves but unfortunately the money has run out. Spellfury needs the public's help in raising funds to complete their second season. They are holding an online fundraiser at www.indiegogo.com/savetherealm and are attempting to raise $24,000 so they can complete the remaining 8 episodes of a 12 episode season. The money will go to paying the cast and crew, building sets, designing costumes, props and renting video equipment. Currently the project is 2% funded with 37 days left. They're are interesting perks and rewards given away at various donation levels like your chance to act in the series, props from the show and signed DVD's.
