Sing & Laugh Along
Here is my parody of kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck Without You called Undead Together Again! Performed by The Zombie Socks Singers, made up of the casts from Epidoes 1-3 including Ryan Singer, and is a revamp of the first version we did a little while back! It will get stuck in your head and when you hear the original on the raido believe me when I say you will never sing it the same way LOL!
Many of the cast pull double duty as actors and crew. Here are a few words from our Heather Lyda who plays Sarah in Episode 1 and a party mom in Episode 4! She also helped with set design on Disgusting Careers!
Working
with Elizabeth Stacy on her Web Series ShortMockumentaries, or “Socks” has been
an exercise in purefun. If the mocking weren’t fun enough, the addition of
zombies has made it disgustingly funny. I knew the minute I read the script for
the first episode—and laughed out loud— that I’d like to get on board with
Elizabeth. My character, Sarah, is a warden of sorts, for the zombie rental
agency “Undead Rental.” Her personality is a mix between Michelle Rodriguez
(Avatar) and Jane Lynch (gLee)—a military bad ass who isn’t afraid to
act and look a little bit stupid. I felt drawn to this character
and honestly didn’t do much preparation around the audition because
she was pretty close to me. (However, I’m pretty sure Elizabeth’s
love for my red hair got me the role of Sarah.)
One thing that really
impressed me about Elizabeth was how efficient she is at scheduling. When
independentfilmmakers work on no/lo budgets, it’s important to respect
everyone’s time. Elizabeth was able to recruit some really talented makeup and
hair artists and other talented crew involved as well. Even the music video is
mixed professionally. But what truly made me believe in her as a professional filmmaker
is the speed with which she contacted SAG/AFTRA and got the process rolling.
Thanks to her efforts, and the assistance of Lawrence Van, theZombie Socks series is a SAG New
Media project, which makes it an even more desirable project for local crew and
talent. If you’re new in town, or you just want to be involved with a fun group
of folks, Zombie Socks is a great new project!
