Web Series Today "Author" Update
We have recently updated the Web Series Today "author list". We do this periodically because the Blogger platform only allows for a limited number of "authors" and we expect all "authors" to contribute on a regular basis. This means that if you have not published an article on Web Series Today in the last 30 days, you might have been removed from the list to make room for new "authors" who desired to contribute regularly.
This update has to be done manually so there is a significant chance that an author can be removed by mistake. If this has happened to you, then please let us know as soon as possible and you will be added back to the list. We also realize that from time to time an author may take a break, but still wants to actively contribute. Again, if you find yourself removed from the list and want to actively participate please let us know as soon as possible. Vacant positions often fill up quite quickly, so we once again stress that you should let us know a.s.a.p..
When updating the list it is important that we are able to correlate the post by a given "author" with the user name they signed up with. For some reason some "authors" choose the name "unknown" which is far from helpful and these "authors" are quite likely to be removed. It is important to choose a name that allows us to identify you from your posts when updating the list.
Please remember that a click in the wrong place is all it takes to accidentally remove someone from the list, so if you have posted recently, and were removed by accident, please do not take it personally. This is some thing we can quickly reverse with your cooperation. Also, there is a chance that if you were recently added to the "author list" and have not yet had time to post, you may have been removed from the list. Once again, let us know a.s.a.p. and we can simply add you back.
f you are not currently an "author" and want to actively participate in Web Series Today, then please follow the directions in the link on the right menu of Web Series Today. Please do not sign up if you only want to make a single post. The blog is intended for those who want to actively participate in this community. so signing up to make a single post is a waste of everyones time, and you will simply be removed after 30 days of not posting. Instead, just ask one of the existing authors to make the post on your behalf. That has the added benefit that the community gets to help each other.
If you have previously applied to become an "author" and have not yet received an invite you should be aware that we recently discovered an issue with the application process. It appears that some applications have been directed to a "spam" folder for some unknown reason. In the next week we will be checking the spam folder to see if any "author requests" have been missed. With this current update we now have a few open "author positions" so we hope to be able to process any outstanding requests.

If you have not received an "author invite" and were expecting one, please make sure you first double check your own spam folder before contacting Web Series Today.
ReplyDeleteAlso, please be aware that Google has recently changed the way gmail is delivered and depending on how a gmail account is set up it can end up in one of 3 folders beside spam.
The "spam" folder has now been processed and fortunately it had just affected the one person that has already been dealt with.
ReplyDeleteIn addition all other requests have now been processed and we added 12 new "authors.
Make sure you check your own spam folders if you did not receive an invite.
We look forward to your contributions to Web Series Today and hope that you all help to spread the word.
If anyone else would like to become an "author" we still have a few available spots but typically they do not last long so this is your best opportunity.
To those who are still on the "author list" but have not posted in some time, you are reminded that anyone who has not posted in 30 days might be removed from the list to make room for new authors at any time. If you wish to retain your "author status" we strongly recommend that you post on a regular basis. Since our mission is to keep the community up to date with what is going on in the World of Web series any post that fits that need is appropriate.
ReplyDeleteBecause of high demand for the available author slots we cannot guarantee that a slot will be available after you are removed from the list. It is not uncommon for us to have a wait list of over a month so it is in your best interest to maintain your active status if you wish to participate in the Web Series Today blog.
